Philosophy for a New Civilization, by Henryk Skolimowski
In 2005 Henryk Skolimowski published Philosophy for a New Civilization in New Delhi, India. This book is an invitation to another kind of philosophy ... not abstract, dry and indifferent to life, but compassionate, holistic, caring and guiding life. Basically it is a book about a philosophy, which may change your life, if you take it seriously.
We don’t have to follow the dictates of the stupefying technological system. We are free people. The human race is not forlorn and doomed. We can make the world a fair place to live, for all of us. But we need to think deeper, with consequence, and while inspired by our ultimate destinies. We need to transcend the plethora of plastic gadgets, insatiable greed, and the paranoia of fear that paralyze us. We can do it. We are proposing a New Logos for a New Civilization. The dawn of a New Civilization is on the horizon. But we have to help it to arise.

In the Silence of Inspiration, by Juanita Skolimowski
Juanita Skolimowski was educated at St. Joseph College, Conn., and San Francisco State University, Cal., with a year at the University of Madrid. She has worked in several fields of education, translation and social work.
Over the years, poetry as a medium has been a private part of self-expression. Often the poems arose within after an experience of love, nature and insight. Skolimowski collected these poems and this little volume represents a selection from the collection.
The past 14 years of residing in Poland has helped her 'see' from a new perspective. Hence, this volume is both in Polish and English. |

Panpsychism in the West, by David Skrbina
In his first book, Skrbina takes on a daunting challenge: to rethink one of the underlying premises of western philosophy. For most of the past 2000 years, civilization has been dominated by two overarching worldviews: the Christian outlook, and the mechanistic view of the world as a machine. In both cases, 'spirit' and mind are largely restricted to mankind. But this places humanity in an unusual and awkward position – as the 'great exception' to the natural order, as a kind of freak of nature. |
